The Kellerhaus

The Kellerhaus is located near Weirs Beach in Laconia NH. They have an ice cream buffet and chocolate.

The Kellerhaus was started in 1906 by Otto G. Keller. Ice cream was made in the early 1920’s. In 1950, Otto was semi-retired while his 2 sons, Seth and Pittman ran the store. Seth and his wife, Peg, purchased a plot of land overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. Peg purchased gifts and candles for the store while Seth decided customers should be able to create their own sundaes. They opened for business in 1966. In the 1970’s, the candy room was added. In 1987, third generation Rick and Kathy Keller took over. Today, the ice cream and candy is made with Otto’s original recipe.
