This family event will celebrate its 146th year Aug. 31 – Sept. 4 with a variety of midway rides from kiddie rides to thrill rides, livestock shows, live music, horse shows, livestock and motorized pulling contests, Sylvia and the Magic Trunk ventriloquist shows, Kids Korner activities, agriculture and craft demonstrations, exhibits, contests, favorite fair food and more.
Highlights include the Little Miss Lancaster Fair Contest (6 pm Thursday), 8th Annual Fireman’s Muster (7 pm Thursday), 22nd Annual Cruise Night (6 pm Friday), Power Wheel Derby (1 pm Saturday), Sawyer Brown concert (7 pm Saturday), Kow Kostume Kontest (1:30 pm Sunday) and Oxen Obstacle Course Double Challenge (10 am Monday).
Children’s entertainment includes the Children’s Pedal Tractor Pull (1 pm Friday, 11 am Saturday), train rides, the Lancaster Fair Scavenger Hunt, Toddler Driving School, games, crafts and contests in the Kids Korner, open daily from 9 am to 1 pm and 2 to 5 pm. Youngsters can be a “Farmer for a Day” by collecting eggs, milking cows, tending to a vegetable garden and feeding the animals. Kids who finish their chores are rewarded with their choice of milk or cheese.
Single-day admission includes parking, unlimited midway rides, and free grandstand shows and entertainment: $15 Thursday, Friday and Monday; $17 Saturday and Sunday; or $65 for a season pass.
