The Friendly Farm – Dublin NH
The Friendly Farm celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019. The Friendly Farm is where people and animals mix as one. The Friendly Farm sits on 5 acres of land and is filled with friendly animals just waiting to be fed, pet, held, and even hugged. Yes, you can pet goats! Feel free to wander the grounds, say hi to all the animals, have a picnic, and learn something new at the Friendly Farm. The Friendly Farm is located on Route 101 and is just one-half mile from the amazing scenery that is Dublin Lake. They are open from 10 am to 5 pm if the weather permits from late May until Labor Day, and also a few weekends in September.
At the Friendly Farm, visitors are able to wander around the barnyard. This includes loose birds roaming around that can be fed corn. They even let visitors feed a bottle of warm milk to the goats. During various times of the day, their pig, Priscilla, can be fed, scratched, and even hosed down, but the cleaning of the pen is always left to the farmers. They have a chicken coop that is actually a six room house filled with 100s of chickens. Visitors can even witness the miracle of birth, while also being able to handle all the chickens. There is also a beehive located within the chicken coop available for trying to find the queen bee. The stables located around the barnyard were originally built in 1926 to hold horses, but now they hold the youngest of all the animals. This includes 2 stalls for rabbits, one with peacocks, and one with the newest of the baby animals. Throughout the barnyard, visitors are able to find cows, horses, pigs, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, geese, turkeys, and so many more animals that are ready for visitors. The Friendly Farm is even equipped with its own gift shop. They have kids puzzles, books on farm animals, and even t-shirts.
The Friendly Farm even has opportunities to work as a junior farmer. Junior Farmers will get a free tee shirt that they can wear with pride and is their admission into the barnyard. They also receive a free bag of food each time they visit to feed the animals. They receive special recognition and are offered special “chores” they can participate in. Junior Farmers receive a 10% discount off any purchases made in the gift shop. They receive a membership that is good for the whole season they are open.
A perfect NH Field Trip idea for school groups, kindergartens, and any group that has 15 people or more together are welcome. The group rates are friendly and only cost $5.50 per person with a minimum group of 15 people. The price per person in a group could be altered from year to year and is available to double check on their website. Groups are welcome to fill out a form online and submit it to book the experience.
Regular admission at the Friendly Farm in Dublin NH costs $8.50 for adults and $7.50 for children. There is a Friendly Farm Admission Discount Card that can help visitors save money every time they visit. The flat fee for this discount costs $82.50 for 15 admissions plus $3.00 for shipping and handling. This works out to $5.50 per person in each party. The card is able to be shared with friends and family to use anytime and there is no expiration date for the card. The card can be ordered online and usually arrives in about a week and also makes great gifts.
