We visited Rocky Glen Falls in Lincoln NH but had to cut our trip short as we were losing daylight and the November temps were dropping fast and heading into the single digits on the day we went to Rocky Glen Falls. Directions to Rocky Glen Falls: Take I-93 to Lincoln NH. I-93 runs through Franconia Notch State Park. GPS location for the parking area is Parking Lot: N44° 07.157′ | W071° 40.875′ – Park at the well-marked lot for the Basin, and follow signs for the Basin until you see the sign for Rocky Glen Falls.
Details About Rocky Glen Falls: Rocky Glen Falls is a moderate hike with lots of root ladders. It follows the Cascade Brook the entire hike up the mountain, so will get to see many other unnamed cascades and waterfalls along this hike. You will also come across Kinsman Falls at the half-way mark to Rocky Glen Falls.
Rocky Glen Falls has also been known as “Upper Falls.”
When you start to get close to Rocky Glen Falls, you will need to pay attention as we mistakenly got off the trail. You will come to sign that just says “Trail” with an left arrow on it (see photos below) if you follow that to the edge of the brook and don’t realize it crosses, there is a worn down area on the right that looks like the trail which will lead you through a mess of water and mud before you realize you missed the trail. Since the trail crosses the water, keep in mind, if you are going in the Spring, this part of the trail may not be accessible from this point. We went in times of dry weather and it was a little difficult to cross.
