MS Mount Washington Cruise Ship
The Mount Washington Cruises fleet consists of the first-class, 230-ft. M/S Mount Washington and two smaller vessels, the M/V Sophie C., and M/V Doris E.
The MS Mount Washington Cruise Ship first cruised Lake Winnipesaukee in 1872 with their steam powered engine. In 2010, the Mt. Washington ship went “Green” and was repowered with environmentally friendly twin Caterpillar diesel engines that reduce pollution by up to 90%. An EPA grant assisted in funding the project. The last engine replacement prior to the 2010 replacement was way back in 1946.
MS Mount Washington Cruise Ship engine replacement in 2010: During the ship’s first test run after the new engines were installed, they brought the ship up to full speed. The engineer of the ship told us that the ship is capable of traveling at about 60mph! He also told us that they could have been pulling water skiers, and during the test run/break-in there was virtually no wake behind the ship. “Just kidding!” The MS Mount Washington Cruise Ship is only capable of a maximum speed of 16.2 mph! Gotta love the staff on the MS Mount Washington! Seems that we were the victims of a some Lake Winnipesaukee cruise ship humor, since it was so much fun we decided to share it with our readers! Must be the loud engines getting to the guys that run these mammoth engines. We gotta hand it to them though, they got us.

2 Questions, Comments, and Reviews on “MS Mount Washington Cruise Ship on Lake Winnipesaukee”
I took my 1st dinner cruise on the Mt Washington in august of 2019.The food and crew were awsome BUT We specifically booked the rock and roll cruise. It turned into a mad house. There was a class reunion on the upper deck which came down and was allowed to take over early in the evening and the DJ played all their request which was No rock and roll music. All of that younger group took over the dance floor leaving it so crowded that none of us who booked the rock and roll cruise to do nothing but sit and watch. Not at all what we expected.ARE ALL CRUISES LIKE THAT?? If so count us out! Dont think I would do it again.
You should of made workers aware of it.
Do you have day or night crusties for handicapped person. What are prices. Looking for June 29, 2022
Must have been some time ago you were on this cruise as the MS Mount Washington has been docked for several years for refitting now. They have replaced it with a far smaller craft called the Winnipesaukee Spirit. Who knows when/if the Mount will be cruising the lake again.
