Darrah Pond Haunting Litchfield, NH.
Darrah Pond (Roy Memorial Park) Litchfield, NH. – The rumor: On cool nights in the summer, there has been sightings of a young boy asking for help in the water. I have been to this park at all hours of the day and night, went swimming and fishing there and even went there at 2:00 am by myself on one occasion and found no signs this location is haunted, that is until I dug into it a little deeper anyway. For the most part it is just a great place with super clean water but my original thinking that Darrah Pond at Roy Memorial Park in Litchfield NH was not haunted has changed.
Late one evening, around 11pm on a September night with fog rolling in I stopped by Darrah Pond. I parked in the gravel parking lot and walked the area around the swings, baseball field, basketball court and skate park. I then made my way down to the pond. Along the way to the pond I see a small dim light hovering over the pond. its light reflected off the water and the fog gave it a glow around it. I stopped walking towards the pond and just watched. The light got brighter and dimmer, sort of a gentle pulse I guess is the best way to describe it. The light moved around the perimeter of Darrah Pond, then just as it appeared, it slowly drifted back into the woods behind the pond lighting up the brush it passed by along its way and then drifted out of sight. I ran back to my car and drove around the neighborhood looking for the glowing light without any luck.
While this may sound like a story out of a sci-fi movie, I sure felt like I was the star of the movie being the only one at Darrah Pond that night!. What I saw has no explanation other than just plain weird. Maybe it’s haunted, maybe a swarm of lonely fireflies hugging, who knows!

I’ve seen horrible things that heave happened. There are Tingley feelings in the lower part of my body when I go there.
i dont want too upset anyone but i heard a boy feel through the ice on a snow mobile in the 70s
I was there the evening that boy went through the ice. I was 6. Another boy named Frankie tried to save him. They weren’t snowmobiling, they were ice skating. It’s so weird to see this story anywhere other than Litchfield.
