Legend of Doctor Granny, a NH legend based in Jefferson, NH.

Doctor Deborah Stalbird Aka, “Doctor Granny” or Deborah Vicker married to Richard Stalbird, gave birth to five children in her days. She was the second woman to settle in the town of Jefferson New Hampshire.

Doctor Granny was well known for her service to residents of Jefferson NH and other area residents. Doctor Granny rode horseback to heal those needing medical attention.

Doctor Granny learned many Native American remedies in her day and was said to be a miracle healer.

Doctor Granny and her family lived at the property which is now known as the Applebrook Bed & Breakfast in Jefferson New Hampshire.
