The current Saco River Bridge was built in 1890 and is listed in the World Guide of Covered Bridges, number 29-02-03 and is New Hampshire Covered Bridge #48. The bridge was restored from 1987 to 1989.

The Saco River Covered Bridge was knocked off it’s abutments and both bridges were carried 2 miles downstream. The remains of the original Saco River Covered Bridge and the Swift River Covered Bridge were used to build the still-standing Swift River Covered bridge.
