The scenic viewing areas along Lake Winnipesaukee offer some of the best views of the lake. On Rt. 28 in Alton, there is a scenic viewing area along the side of Rt. 28.

Along Rt. 11B in Gilford NH is a Lake Winnipesaukee scenic viewing area. This is more of a pull-off but offers some great views.

Another scenic viewing area is on Rt. 11B in Alton Bay.

If you want a better view of Lake Winnipesaukee, you may need to climb Mt. Major, which offers a stunning view of the Eastern half of the lake including Alton Bay and Wolfeboro Bay, NH.
