Bowling Acres Grill

Peterborough, NH

By TouringNH.com

If you are looking for a great meal, in a relaxing environment with some fun exercise thrown in, then the Bowling Acres Grill, in Peterborough, is just what you are looking for.

Iíve been a Peterborough resident for almost 10 years and have tried nearly everything on their menu, from the award winning pizza (voted Best in Town) to the delicious steak tip dinner specials. One of my favorite pizzas is the Meat Lovers. With the large weighing in at nearly 8 pounds and a price of only $18.00, it is an easy way to feed a hungry family. They also have a great selection of burgers, subs, salads and appetizers. Iím partial to the bacon cheeseburger, always cooked just the way I like it and finished with my selection of toppings. The dining area has three booths (each one large enough for a small family) and seating at the bar. With four flat panel TVs, you wonít miss any of the sports action, no matter where you sit. They have an extensive selection of beer, both bottled and on tap. They also have a nice selection of wines. While they do not have a full liquor license, they do have an assortment of cordials and light liquors. One of my favorite things about Bowling Acres is the outdoor seating area. In the warm months, folks gather around the picnic tables to enjoy their dinner or just to catch up with friends. It is a ďclosed areaĒ, so you are allowed to bring your drinks outside.

If you are in the mood for a little exercise, candlepin bowling is a great way to work up an appetite or to work off that 8 pound pizza. Bowling Acres has 12 lanes, including lanes equipped with bumpers to ensure that the little ones have fun too. On Friday nights in the summer, they do glow bowling which is always a hit with the teens. If the kids arenít into bowling, they can have fun in the arcade while you bowl.

Owners, Tony and Shannon, make you feel right at home and part of the family. Tony can usually be found in the kitchen preparing meals, while Shannon is taking orders and serving up beverages. You can find out more about Bowling Acres by visiting the website www.BowlingAcres.com

So, next time you are in Peterborough, stop in at Bowling Acres for a tasty meal with some fun on the side.
