Halloween Recipes ~ NH Recipes

Recipes for Halloween Fun

Halloween is filled with ghosts and goblins. But did you know that there are lots of food recipes that you can make for Halloween? Here are some great recipes to get you started:

Spider Snake Cupcakes Recipe

1 box of yellow cake mix

 12 pieces of black licorice

 1 can of vanilla frosting

 Orange food coloring

 3 cups of M&Mís candies

 2 mini snickers bars

 You will need:

 2 12-cup cake pans

 24 paper cupcake liners

 1 heavy tray

Preheat over 350 degrees.  Place the cupcake liners into the pan.

Make the cake according to the directions on the box.

Divide the cake among the cupcake pan.

Bake according to the directions on the box.

While the cupcakes are cooking, cut the licorice into even 2-inch pieces.

Place the vanilla frosting in a bowl and add the orange food coloring so that the frosting is now orange.

Once the cake is done and cooled, frost the cupcakes evenly with the orange frosting.

Lace M&Mís around the cupcakes. Take the licorice and place one on each side of the cupcake to make spider legs. Now take two of the cupcakes, one for each of the head of the spider snake.

Cut one of the snicker bars in half and place on the lead cupcake for the eyes. Then place one M&M on each half of the snicker bar.

Line 12 cupcakes per snake on the tray. Do the same with the other 12 cupcakes so you end up with two spider snakes.

Pumpkin Cookie Pops Recipe

(These are absolutely my favorite Halloween treat)

1 roll of sugar cookie dough

 1 can of vanilla frosting

 Orange and green food coloring

 1 cup of M&Mís

You will need:

2 cookie sheets

 30 colored craft sticks

 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Line the cookie sheets with foil paper.

Cut the cookie dough into 30 cookies; 15 on each sheet.

Place a craft stick under each cookie.

Bake the cookies and remove to cool.

Take ľ of the frosting green. Tint the rest of the frosting orange.

Spread the orange frosting on each of the cookies evenly.

Using the green frosting to make the pumpkin on the top of each cookie pop.

Use the M&Mís to make the eyes, nose and smile.

Party Mix Recipe

4 cups of tiny pretzels

2.5 cups of oat cereal such as Cheerios

 2.5 cups Chex Mix cereal

 1 cup of peanuts

1 cup of round cereal such as Kix or Cocoa Puffs

 2 cups white chocolate pieces

 1 Tbs. shortening

In a bowl, combine the pretzels, oat cereal, Chex Mix cereal, peanuts and the round cereal.

In the microwave, combine the white chocolate pieces and the shortening for 2 minutes.

Pour the microwave mixture over the cereal mixture.

Spread the mixture over in a cookie sheet that is lined with foil paper.

Cool, break apart and enjoy!

Cider Delight Recipe

 6 cups apple cider

 1 pound caramel candies

2 ounces of whipped cream cheese

 Ĺ tsp. ground cinnamon

Heat the apple cider in a saucepan over medium heat.

Place the caramels in the bottom of each mug.

Add the cider, sprinkle cinnamon on top and enjoy!

Devilish Eggs Recipe

 2 dozen hard boiled eggs

After you peel the eggs, slice in half lengthwise and take out the yolk and add to a mixing bowl along with a little bit of both mustard and mayonnaise.

Using a fork, blend the ingredients together.

Fill each yolk half with the egg mixture and chill in the fridge.

Creepy Crunchies Recipe

3 Tbs. butter

2 cups miniature marshmallows

6 cup rice krispies cereal

 Orange and black M&Mís

Melt margarine over low heat.  Add marshmallows and mix until completely melted.

Remove from heat and add cereal until the cereal is well coated.

Add the M&Mís and blend well.

Spray a baking pan with non stick spray and spread the mixture inside the pan evenly.

Once it is cooled you can cut them into squares.

Black Kool-Aid Recipe

6 oz. envelope grape Kool-Aid

1 cup water

2 cups grape juice

1 carrot

4 large marshmallows

1 can pineapple slices

1 can peaches

2 cups seedless grapes

Ice cubes

Drain the cans of pineapple and peaches.  Set aside.

Place Kool-Aid in 2 cups of water and mix together.

Add grapes juice to Kool-Aid and 1 cup of ice cubes.  Mix until the ice cubes are dissolved.

Shred carrot and add to Kool-Aid mixture.

Break marshmallow into pieces and then slice peaches into cubes and add to Kool-Aid.  Add pineapple and grapes.

Halloween Apples Recipe

14 oz. pkg. of caramels.

1 cup mini marshmallows

1 Tbs. water

5 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

5 crispy apples

Wooden skewers

Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Set aside.

Mix caramels, marshmallows and water in cooking pot. Stir until the caramels are completely melted.

Insert skewers into the apples. Take each apple and dip into the caramel mixture.  Make sure the apples are completely coated.

Place apples on cookie sheets and refrigerate until hardened.

Melt chocolate in microwave.

Take the apples and, one by one, dip them in the chocolate mixture.

Witchesí Brew Recipe

10. pkg. of frozen raspberries, thawed

2.5 cups cranberry juice

2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin

2 liter bottle of ginger ale

2 liters bottle of sparkling apple cider

6 gummy worms

The first thing you need to do is make the hand that will be frozen.

Take a rubber glove and set it aside for now.

Take a measuring cup and add the raspberries and cranberry juice.

Pour two cups of the mixture in a pan. Sprinkle the gelatin and let stand for 2 minutes.

Once gelatin is dissolved, add the warm mixture to the one in the measuring cup.

Pour the mixture from the measuring cup into the glove. Tie the top of the glove with a rubber band.  Freeze until completely solid.

When it is serving time, remove the frozen hand from the glove. Lean the frozen hand against the inside if a punch bowl.  Add ginger ale and sparkling cider.

Garnish with gummy worms.
