    Canobie Lake is located in the southern part of the state in Rockingham Country. It borders the towns of Salem and Windham.

    Canobie Lake Facts:

    Canobie lake is 1 miles long and about 0.4 miles wide.
    The lake supplies the water for the town of Salem.
    Besides, Canobie Lake Park, the lake is mainly surrounded by houses.
    The surface area is 373 acres.
    The elevation surface is 219 feet.
    There are several species of fish found in Canobie Lake including trout, crappie, bass, perch, pickerel and pike.

    Canobie Lake History:

    The lake was founded in 1902 and it has attracted visitors for almost 100 years. The things that attract visitors are the clean water, a great amount of fish and a long stretch perfect for boating. The Canobie Lake Protective Association was formed in 1980 to protect the lake.

    Recreation:

    Canobie lake Park, an amusement park, is located on the eastern part of the lake.
    Other activities on the lake include fishing, boating and bird watching.
