  • 4 Things to do in White Mountains

The White Mountain area is perfect for tourists and winter enthusiasts. The White Mountains have so much to offer but there is several must-see or must-do in the area.

    1. Glen Ellis Falls is located in Pinkham Notch. The waterfall is 64 feet long, streaming down the side if a cliff and emptying into a pool of crystal clear water. You can sit near the pool and just listen to the sounds of the waterfall.

    2. The Flume is located is located at the base of Mount Liberty in Franconia Notch State Park. The Flume is the perfect place to be in the summer or fall. You can walk the hiking trails and enjoy the granite walls, the waterfalls and the 800 foot natural gorge. There are stairs that you walk up and bridges that guide you over the gorge. Fall is my perfect time to go because the colors are changing and it is just beautiful.

    3. Frankensteinís Trestle is something you may not heard of but it is part of the Conway Scenic Railroad. The trestle bridge is in Crawford Notch and it really looks like it is hanging front the edge but it is not. To get to the bridge, you will need to walk 5 miles from the Arethusa Falls parking area on Route 302. Then you have to trek up the cliff to get to the trestle. It is definitely a beautiful sight.

    4. A visit to The Brick Store is a must-do when visiting the White Mountains. The store is located in Bath and is the oldest general store in the country to still be operating. The store goes all the way back to 1790. The store has many New England favorites such as maple syrup, homemade fudge and gift items.

Sabbaday Falls on the Kanc is an easy walk and a must see also...there seems to be something different about the place every time we visit...very beautiful - last week we took a walk up there and there were butterfiles all over the place...
